Puppy Manners Class

Do you have a new puppy in the home under 17 weeks old?  Kudos for Canines is offering a 6 week Puppy Class based upon the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program.  Class is limited to 5 puppies and they must be 17 weeks or below when they start the class.  Class is 1 hour long and will run for 6 weeks.  Your puppy will be exposed to new stimuli designed to make them more confident dogs as they grow older.

Worried about shots?  Here’s what the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior has to say about early socialization.

AVSAB Position Statement
Puppies should have received a minimum of one set of vaccines at least 7 days prior to the first class and a first deworming. They should be kept up-to-date on vaccines throughout the class.

New Class Starting on Wednesday, January 13th at 5pm – FULL
New Class Starting on Wednesday, March 3rd at 5pm

Smells Like Puppy Teen Spirit

Targeted towards our puppies aged between 5 and 14 months old. This class will give you the tools to create focus in your young dog, while having appropriate expectations of their maturity levels.  Our focus will be on behaviors necessary to keep a busy puppy out of mischief. This class is also for teams who have graduated recently from our Puppy Manners class and want to work more on obedience type skills.

New Class Starting on Wednesday, January 27th at 6:30pm

All Tricked Out!

This 6 week class will strengthen the bond between you and your dog, as well as increase your dogs motivation to cooperate and focus on you. It will mentally challenge you and your dog to think outside of the box (or even inside of it for the right trick!), as you and your trainer plan and coordinate the various fun tricks you’ll be teaching your dog to achieve a Trick Dog Title though AKC.

During this class, you’ll get the chance to earn your AKC Trick Dog Title (level dependent upon the dog skills).

New Class Starting on Tuesday, January 26th at 6:30pm

Gently Educated Dog Class

This class is targeted towards adult dogs and rescues that need foundational level obedience training. Our goal for the teams is to help foster a relationship of trust between the dogs and their family. Behaviors such as recall, stay, and loose leash walking will be covered.

New Class Starting on Friday, March 5th at 5pm (No class on 3/19)

Canine Good Citizen Class

The Canine Good Citizenship Class teaches advanced skills and prepares both dog and handler for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification test. This class is recommended for dogs that are one year or older and are comfortable around other dogs.

More information about our goals and criteria for passing the class (and the test!) are available on the AKC website below.  Dogs do not have to be AKC registered in order to enroll in this class.

During the sixth week of class a CGC test will be conducted. This class is only recommended for teams that have taken prior obedience training classes or private training. This class has a 4 dog limit.

Don’t Bite The Vet!

Want some tools to help you and your dog get through a vet visit easier?  Can’t get Fluffy to stay on the scale for half a second?  How about putting in those ear drops because of the recurring ear infections? How can I brush his teeth when I can’t even look at them?!

This class may not solve Fluffy’s worries about going to the vet, but it will certainly provide some tools and tips to make for an easier visit (assuming Fluffy will even go in the building!)
